AoS Maggotkin of Nurgle: Putrid Blightkings

If you want to expand your Maggotkin of Nurgle with a sturdy melee unit, the Putrid Blightkings are a very fitting choice. The Warhammer Age of Sigmar set adds five multipart plastic miniatures to the army and gives you plenty of room for different poses and equipment. Especially if you're not just looking for any other troop set, but a unit with a clear faction look, the Putrid Blightkings fit well into a Nurgle project. For gaming, collection, and painting, this is a unit that immediately looks like Maggotkin.

For many buyers, this type of box is particularly interesting when they want to build their army not with individual models, but with a clear elite unit. The Putrid Blightkings are useful if you are planning a thematic Maggotkin of Nurgle force and value a unit that makes a strong presence on the table. The set also makes sense as a hobby project because you can build and paint several models at once. Those who prefer an immediate visible reinforcement for their army are often better served with such a box than with individual character models.

For Maggotkin of Nurgle, many collectors care not only about the miniature itself but also about the cohesive look of the entire faction. Putrid Blightkings fit perfectly into this type of Collection because they strongly convey the dark, decayed Nurgle aesthetic. If you organize armies by factions or want to build a unified theme in your display case, such a unit offers more than just a random single model. The set is also attractive as a building block for a growing Age of Sigmar Collection because it clearly fits into an existing Nurgle shelf.

Players who want to complement their Maggotkin of Nurgle with a steadfast unit will find the Putrid Blightkings set a great fit for a close-combat concept. The five models are designed as a cohesive unit and help you build the army feel not only through heroes but also through a durable unit. Especially if you play Age of Sigmar actively and don’t just collect individual miniatures, such a box is practical because it provides you with several models for your list and painting right away. This makes starting a Nurgle army project much more straightforward.

What makes the Putrid Blightkings special is their clear affiliation with Maggotkin of Nurgle. Those who specifically collect this faction often look not just for strong miniatures, but for models that fit together visually and thematically. This set is designed exactly for that purpose. It integrates well into armies already made up of Nurgle models and can also serve as the next logical step if you want to build your Collection gradually rather than all at once. This makes the overall appearance much more coherent later on.

With miniatures like the Putrid Blightkings, the card language is not the main focus, but buyers still often pay attention to the exact product name and faction assignment. Especially in the hobby area, it is helpful if you can immediately recognize when purchasing whether you have the right Nurgle set in front of you and can neatly organize it into your Collection. Those who collect multiple armies or factions rarely want to guess when choosing. A clear product name makes it easier to assign the set directly to the right project and find it again later.

If you are torn between a unit and a single hero, the comparison helps quite quickly. The Putrid Blightkings give you five models at once and are therefore stronger for army building, playing area, and uniform painting projects. A character model is often more sensible when you are specifically looking for a leader. Here, on the other hand, you get more presence per box and a unit that fits much more visibly into an existing Maggotkin of Nurgle army. For many Players, that is exactly the decisive difference.

The Putrid Blightkings are especially suited for buyers who want to start building right away. As a Sealed set, it can also be saved for a later hobby project if you are currently painting other units first or your army planning is still open. For a Sealed collection, it is particularly interesting if you specifically collect Maggotkin of Nurgle and want to keep the boxes in their thematic order. Those who prefer to dive straight into crafting will find a set here that goes directly to the painting table without detours.
