AoS Maggotkin of Nurgle: Great Unclean One

If you're looking for a model for your Maggotkin of Nurgle army that immediately defines the image of the entire force, the Great Unclean One is a very obvious choice. The Warhammer Age of Sigmar miniature represents exactly the kind of large model that stands out equally on the gaming table and in the Collection. With the multi-part plastic kit, you not only get size but also a kit with plenty of creative freedom. For Players, Collectors, and hobbyists, this is a model clearly focused on impact.

Many buyers choose a model like this when they want more than a standard troop addition. The Great Unclean One is especially suitable if you want to expand your Nurgle army with a central monster. This makes sense once the foundation is set and you are looking for a figure that visually and thematically marks the next step. Compared to smaller units, this model brings significantly more presence and is therefore better suited as a highlight for your army and display case.

The set includes various weapon options, including Balesword, Plague Flail, and Doomsday Bell. Additionally, you can alternatively build Rotigus Rainfather, which makes the kit even more appealing to many hobbyists. This flexibility is especially helpful if you want to complete your army quickly but also design it thoughtfully. The included Citadel round base also provides a solid foundation for both gaming and display. It is precisely these options that make the kit interesting for more discerning buyers.

The Great Unclean One is one of those figures that immediately thematically categorizes an entire Collection. Anyone who collects Maggotkin of Nurgle or Chaos models in general will get a very characterful large model here that doesn’t just fade into the background. Especially Collectors who want to visually build a coherent army like to choose such central figures. The size, build options, and clear Nurgle identity make the model particularly attractive for a Collection.

In the game, the Great Unclean One is especially suited as a striking centerpiece for your army. If you want to fill your Maggotkin of Nurgle list not only with units but also place a strong model, this figure brings just the right amount of presence. The monster is particularly effective when you play an army with a clear Nurgle focus and are looking for a model that is thematically immediately understandable. For many Players, this is the point where such a large model really pays off.

If you're torn between a unit and a monster, you should consider what your army currently lacks. Standard troops provide playability and structure, while the Great Unclean One makes a visual statement. For pure list building, a troop box is often more practical, but for the army's appearance, this model is better. Especially with Maggotkin of Nurgle, the eye-catcher plays a big role because the faction heavily relies on its distinctive aesthetic. Here, you get exactly that in a particularly large form.

Large Nurgle figures are attractive to many painters because they offer a lot of surface area and many visible structures. The Great Unclean One is a good example of this, as it allows you to work very deliberately with details, textures, and colors. If you want your next hobby project to be not small but visible and expressive, this model is a strong choice. It requires some time but rewards you with a result that truly stands out in the display case. For painters, this is often worth more than pure gameplay value.

The Great Unclean One can of course also remain unopened in a Warhammer Collection if you prefer to collect such boxes as complete products. In most cases, however, buyers choose this kit because they want to build, paint, and use it in their Nurgle army. For a Sealed Collection, the clear connection to the faction is especially interesting. But if you are looking for a large model to be the centerpiece of your project, opening it is usually the more sensible choice.
