What Is Edge of the Ethernities?
Edge of the Ethernities is the major summer set of 2025 and the conclusion of the current storyline. The story takes place at the edge of the Multiverse – where space and time blur. Wizards describes the set itself as a “space opera” with a completely new aesthetic style and epic depth.
Story & Artwork
The story takes place in the Sothera galaxy – a system full of rifts in space and reality. It is told across 11 main chapters and five additional stories, written in part by Seth Dickinson. Visually, you can expect a mix of sci-fi elements, futuristic Kavu creatures, and space-fantasy elements with Planeswalkers in a cosmic style.
New Mechanics & Card Types
Spacecrafts – Legendary Spaceships
For the first time, there are legendary Spacecraft cards that can be powered up with creatures and even used as Commanders – a significant innovation for the Commander format.
Echo Shift & Fracture
New abilities such as Echo Shift and Fracture provide strategic depth and exciting games. Cards can switch states or trigger effects across alternative timelines.
